CARNEGIE LIBRARIES IN INDIANA

Indiana has more Carnegie Libraries than any other state

Andrew Carnegie loved libraries!  He built them around the world.  During the first two decades of the 20th century, he donated funds to construct 164 libraries in Indiana.   Most of these sturdy, handsome buildings are still standing and, what's more, the majority of them are still serving as public libraries.  Enjoy our gallery of wonderful Carnegies!  We have all 164 represented here.  Click on the image for more information and photos.  Check back often as we keep adding more photos.
